The Histology Tech under supervision performs accessioning, embedding, cutting and staining specimens obtained from the Operating Room, Endoscopy and Radiology. Along with these basic histology duties, the HT will be expected to perform histologic and IHC staining along with an assortment of other duties supporting the histology department.

• Successful completion of CAHEA accredited Histotechnology program, OR Associate degree or at least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university in biology, AND one year full time acceptable experience in Histopathology, OR must obtain HT (ASCP) registration within 18 months of date of hire, or transfer.
• Knowledge of various laboratory instrumentation required.
• Proficient communication skills required. Ability to read and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Prior laboratory experience is preferred.
