Summary

As the Stewardship Officer for University Recognition Programs, you will support U-M's comprehensive best-of-class University-wide donor recognition programs that celebrate donor milestones for lifetime giving, campaign giving, and planned giving. Additionally, you will help support customized projects that help the university to celebrate donors' momentous life occasions, along with outreach activities that strengthen the bond between individual donors and the University of Michigan President or VP for Development.

You will report to the Sr Associate Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations and work with others on the Office of University Development (OUD) Stewardship and Donor Relations team to provide exceptional customer service to the university's donors and members, and maintain expertise in all aspects of stewardship activities and programs.

Responsibilities*

  • Manage the following processes:
    • The memento recognition process.
    • All reports that track donor data for giving recognition levels
    • Processes for recognition letters
  • Track all recognition communications and memento presentation activities in the university's Donor and Alumni Relationship Tool (DART), a CRM system.
  • Manage logistical details for specialized donor engagement opportunities, including curating donor visits and campus activities.
  • Support Senior Executive Director for Stewardship, Events, and Special Liaison to University Leadership with special projects to further presidential donor relationships.
  • Participate in the review and editing process for acknowledgment letters.
  • Support and encourage OUD and university programs related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Customer service-oriented, with a commitment to providing excellent stewardship to university donors and donor prospects.
  • 1 years of experience with database and reporting systems.
  • 1 years of experience creating written development communications materials, such as acknowledgement letters, meeting briefings, memos, and procedures documentation.
  • Discretion when dealing with sensitive information.

Work Locations

Please note: This is a hybrid position. You must be within a commutable distance; able to attend weekly team meetings in-person; attend at least 3 days per week in person in the office, especially for training and to handle processes related to delivery and presentation of recognition elements.
