OVERVIEW
The Assistant Director for Collegiate Recruitment and Operations in the Office of Admissions is responsible for leading the work of recruitment, event management and review within the freshman admission counselor team. The Assistant Director will also ensure the effective execution of collegiate-focused recruitment and outreach efforts and day-to-day operations. This position reports to the Associate Director for Collegiate Recruitment.
This is a full-time, P&A, non-exempt position. Salary range is $54,000 - $57,000 depending on qualifications. This includes an excellent benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life/LTD insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, 22 paid time off days, one personal holiday in addition to the existing 11 University holidays.

Summary:
The Assistant Director for Collegiate Recruitment and Operations in the Office of Admissions is responsible for leading the work of recruitment, event management and review within the freshman admission counselor team. The Assistant Director will also ensure the effective execution of collegiate-focused recruitment and outreach efforts and day-to-day operations. Duties:
College Based Recruitment & Event Management (30%)
Liaise with Admissions communication team members to ensure college communications timelines and deadlines are met in regards to event and visit success
In coordination with the Associate Director for Collegiate Recruitment, oversee the implementation of college-based and overall recruitment efforts, including event planning, presentation development, volunteer efforts
Coordinate collegiate ambassador recruitment initiatives (where appropriate)
Liaise with college stakeholders regularly to ensure college timelines, deadlines and goals are met
Holistic Review Coordination (20%)
Serves as the Freshman Counselor Review Coordinator
Coordinates scholarship, honors and school review annually
Oversees programs and services to serve freshman counselors in their review
Direct Customer Service & Recruitment (20%)
Represents the U of M's Office of Admissions at on and off-campus recruitment events.
Serves as the Office of Admissions contact for School of Nursing inquiries/events/presentations where appropriate
Provides the highest level of extra-mile customer service to prospective students, their
families, and school officials.
Provides admissions counseling and information to students, families, and constituent groups
Enhances service to students, schools and constituent groups through the implementation of innovative programs and initiatives.
Ensures quality and effectiveness of recruitment efforts and program delivery through effective implementation and outcomes-monitoring
Manages escalated phone calls and complex situations that have no apparent solution
Participates in the development of effective and creative recruitment and outreach efforts
Leadership and Supervision (20%)
Serves as a member of the freshman admissions expanded leadership team.
Responsible for day-to-day supervision of professional staff and student workers; coordinates with the Associate Director to manage work assignments of team members.
Serves as manager on duty or adviser on duty.
Serve as committee member or leader as needed
Liaise across the department and on campus
Support meeting coordination as necessary
Project Management & Execution (10%)
Manage, or participate in special or team projects.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum six years of experience in admissions, student recruitment, customer service or other aspects of public relations.
- Must have either a driver's license or consistent and reliable transportation to travel regionally in the Midwest.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice.
- Must be able to travel regionally and nationally, sometimes overnight, for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Event planning or project management experience preferred.
- Preference given to candidates with University of Minnesota experience defined broadly such as former student, graduate, employee, or community member of any campus.
- Preference given to candidates with community based organization experience.
- Preference given to candidates with University of Minnesota admissions experience.
