Required Qualifications:
1. PhD in epidemiology, population sciences or closely related field
2. Expertise with cancer research data, analyses
3. Experience with statistical analysis packages including SAS and R
4. Expertise in obtaining external funding for research
5. Expertise in writing peer-reviewed publications
6. Knowledge of aspects of cancer survivorship
7. Eager to learn
8. Ability to connect and communicate with research team
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Interest in women’s cancer research and cancer survivorship
2. Highly motivated, well organized with an ability to participate effectively in an integrated team approach yet highly proficient at working independently to accomplish specific assigned goals
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Strong record of academic achievement and publication of research results in peer-
reviewed scientific journals, preferably as first author
Study Design and Data Analysis (30%):
- Conduct large research project or several smaller projects and coordinate the analysis, evaluation and reporting on phases of the project(s); this may include developing research plans and solving highly complex methodology, protocol, procedural and research problems through the original design of protocols, policies and procedures - frequently involving researching advanced concepts and developing original solutions in the absence of clear standards
- Analyze experimental data to test hypotheses and interpret the results.
- Interpret complex data and advise principal investigators and others within the projects both inside and outside the University, where applicable, on research strategies, techniques, procedures and experimental results.
Write Manuscripts (30%):
- Prepare and interpret results for publications and presentations
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students to assist in preparation of manuscripts, based on study protocol results and analytic work
Data Entry / Management (20%):
- Assist with the development of REDCAP databases as is applicable to study protocols and designs
- Organize data from large research protocol or several smaller research protocols
- Analyze experimental data to test hypotheses and interpret the results.
Develop Study Protocols (10%):
- Conduct large research project or several smaller projects and coordinate the research plan, the written protocol, procedural and research problems through the original design of protocols
- Control and evaluate expenditure of research funds under the general direction of a Principal Investigator as it may apply to specific protocols
Participate in Grant Writing (10%):
- Interpret complex data and advise principal investigators and others within the projects both inside and outside the University, where applicable, on research strategies, techniques, procedures and experimental results. With this information, help prepare background information and materials for grant applications and submissions
- Meet with collaborators to develop and supervise the development and optimization of materials within grant protocols
