Job Description
This position coordinates the day-to-day activities of the medical student elective programs for fourth year medical students and provides support to the educational division for the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Duties:
- Preparation of monthly orientation program, student shift schedules, lecture schedule, obtain faculty evaluations of students, proctor final exam and assist clerkship director with final grades including entering finalized grades into SOM website.
- Data entry for the Mission Based Management database for all emergency medicine faculty.
- Update rotation catalog annually.
- Coordinate the schedule for outside visiting medial students using the VSAS system.
- Assist medical students in the scheduling of away electives including the final evaluations and grades.
- Independently compose correspondence, maintain files and schedules of medical students.
- Oversee the emergency medicine rural elective faculty including credentialing of adjunct appointments and assist the clerkship director in annual site visits to rural elective sites.
- Provide administrative support to residency program coordinator.
- Organize and support Continuing Medical Education (CME) program for all residency lectures including the organization and scheduling of the weekly residency conferences.
- Provide clerical support for clerkship director and other duties as assigned by residency coordinator, program director and clerkship director.
- Submit medical student course grades to the School of Medicine.
- Submit reimbursement expenses for the educational division.
- Provide additional administrative support to the EM Residency Program during resident interviews, mock oral board exams, wellness retreats, and graduation events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Shift
Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Three to four years of experience in an administrative capacity; preferably in an academic medical setting. Knowledge of Graduate Medical Education and experience with medical students and/or residents educational programs is strongly preferred.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $21.28 - $24.00 Hourly
