Primary Description of Work
The Student Development Program Coordinator, serves as an integral role in facilitating on-campus programming experiences within Student Development and the Division of Student Affairs. This frontline position provides support to program offerings sponsored by offices within UNCSA as well as advises student programs with various programs for student development.
Primary responsibilities include goal setting, assessment, budget management, program and content development, and interdepartmental collaboration.

Work Schedule and hours
Monday – Friday; 9am – 6pm; with occasional evenings and weekends.
Description of Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as an advisor for student programming groups which includes managing budgets, program planning, scheduling, and operations.
- Manage contract review, negotiation, and execution of all events related to student activities and events.
- Assist in recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of student programming committee members, student workers, and orientation leaders
- Assist in Welcome Week programming and with other Student Development programs including New Student Orientation, Student Activities Fair, Fall Festival, Beaux Arts and other event initiatives.
- Work closely with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to collaborate on programmatic initiatives designed to enhance the student experience
- Collaborate with student organizations and coordinates with student leaders on signature and sponsored programs within Student Development.
- Know and apply pertinent institutional and departmental policies to student organization operations and activities.
- Serve as a representative on university committees as assigned.
- Oversee ongoing assessment processes and annual project-based reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience (2-3 years) working in higher education in advising, developing and coordinating student life programs.
- Experience working closely with students from diverse backgrounds within higher education settings.
- Extensive experience initiating, planning, implementing, and evaluating episodic and ongoing programmatic efforts.
- Experience working collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders in a wide variety of university initiatives and committees.
- Experience in developing and implementing student-driven programmatic efforts.
