Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Research & Prospect Management, the Pipeline Development Research Director will help design and lead the research strategy for prospect pipeline development from annual giving through major gifts by managing a comprehensive discovery and tracking process. The Pipeline Development Research Director's role will be to focus specifically on those prospects who are not selected for Wharton development portfolios for near-term solicitation, but who should be engaged with School, both to increase support for the School's current priorities and to develop a pipeline of support for future initiatives that may emerge during the next campaign and in the years ahead. The position requires a specialized skill set, combining research and prospect management experience, business intelligence, process building, and data fluency.

The Pipeline Development Research Director is responsible for designing and running the weekly and monthly alignment processes through which the WHEA Research/PM and Senior Development teams partner to review new leads. The Pipeline Development Research Director is also responsible for preparing capacity ratings and basic bios for all identified prospects not added to portfolios and for any background needed for engagement events. This includes both international and domestic prospects. As prospects are identified, the Pipeline Development Director will make the background available as a resource to colleagues for current and future projects in Wharton External Affairs and for fundraising. The position may be required to prepare strategy and engagement plans as needed for prospects not in portfolios, depending on the University's prospect management policies and other TBD processes associated with the implementation of a new CRM.

QUALIFICATIONS :
BA/BS and 5-7 years of research, prospect management, or fundraising experience in a complex organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
