What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, EMPLOYER RELATIONS position at University of Wisconsin–Madison?
In conjunction with the Director, conceptualizes, researches, and develops annual and long-term strategic plans related to employer outreach and engagement and supports those plans through the day-to-day operations of the Employer Relations unit.
Recruiting:
- Research, create and implement an annual recruiting plan to oversee recruiting activity across the Full-Time MBA and Masters programs. Proactively canvas existing and prospective employers to solicit annual talent needs and schedule events to recruit talent for firm's annual needs.
- Serve as the point of contact for the delivery of services in all phases of the employer on-campus or virtual recruiting experience, including (but not limited to): planning, outreach, booking reservations, coordination, and preparation of recruiting rooms that best serve the employer's needs; interview packet preparation; all guest reservations (parking, etc.); virtual and phone interview setup; guest hospitality (e.g., meal coordination); collection and analysis of recruiter satisfaction survey or other surveys; and next-step discussion.
- 25% Serves as the main point of contact for prospective employers, provides advice and information about recruitment, engagement, hiring students, and addresses their needs
- 30% Schedules logistics and secures resources for on-campus recruiting activities
- 10% Develops relationships and working knowledge of relevant industries
- 15% Provides students with information about career planning and employment opportunities and/or coaches students through the recruiting process
- 5% Participates in the campus-wide career services community providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college
- 10% Records, post jobs, create resume books in/and through Career Management systems to support growing data and reporting needs.
- 5% Other duties as assigned

- Expert proficiency in MS Office and proven experience learning new web-based systems such as SalesForce. 12Twenty, Handshake, Qualtrics and other systems.
- General knowledge of the national business climate, an understanding of and interest in learning the ecosystems of major industries and the functional entry roles for Full-time MBAs and Business Masters graduates.

- A natural networker and storyteller. Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to navigate organizational structures and influence others. An avid and resourceful researcher of industries, organizations, people, and business trends.
- Ability to travel up to 20-40% in-state and out-of-state and to attend Career Fairs, Conferences, or networking events for business development.
