What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Engagement Officer position at University of Wisconsin–Madison?
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of the Office of Corporate Relations of the College of Engineering (COE), the Corporate Engagement Officer will lead existing and prospective interactions with industry and national/international lab partners. The individual will execute a business development strategy for select UW-Madison COE consortia, institutes, and centers that will ensure growth and sustainability. The individual will also lead interactions with national and international labs toward increasing partnerships with COE departments and faculty.
Responsibilities:
Identifies and solicits corporate and foundation gifts including the development, implementation, and evaluation of giving strategies; manages relationships with key industry and foundation officials to advance institutional goals.- 15% Designs, delivers, and evaluates new and existing corporate and foundation relations events, programs, and communications materials
- 5% Collects, analyzes, and evaluates company and industry research in support of determining appropriate resource allocations
- 10% Monitors site visits with internal and external corporate and foundation stakeholders to assist in multi-unit collaboration
- 5% Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of corporate and foundation giving strategies
- 10% Identifies opportunities for improvement or new development
- 20% Serves as a main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, answers questions, and provides information about established programs based on set material or standards
- 15% Monitors the organization and updating of corporate and foundation relations metrics; and records and disseminates information to the appropriate entities
- 20% Leads and manages industrial consortia connected to UW research, including strategy, communications, event planning, membership engagement, and member recruiting.

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of academic and/or corporate experience required
Minimum of 2 years' experience in business development, corporate outreach (e.g. sales), or corporate relations required
Experience in engineering-specific applications/market segments preferred

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
