What are the responsibilities and job description for the WIDA ELEARNING INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER position at University of Wisconsin–Madison?
The eLearning Instructional Designer position is located within WIDA's Administration and Operations department and will report to the Manager of Digital Learning and Technology. This position will work in a team of professionals to design and develop online or blended digital learning experiences for pre-K through 12 educators serving Multilingual Learners. In addition, the position will apply knowledge of adult learning theory and professional development approaches and work with a broad range of instructional technologies such as CANVAS, Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Audacity, Vimeo, and Microsoft Teams.
Working fully remote is an option for this position. - 20% Designs and develops engaging, effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face, blended, and/or online
- 20% Designs, develops, organizes, maintains, and consults on instructional materials, activities, curricula, and assessment resources in accordance with current pedagogical practices, cognitive/learning science, and design tools and methods
- 10% Researches, designs, and/or acquires learning resources, technologies, materials, and/or processes to support learning
- 5% Provides training and technical support directly to learners in settings such as classrooms, labs, clinics, and distance learning mediums
- 5% Provides consultation, training, and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms
- 15% Analyzes, tests, troubleshoots, resolves issues, and provides feedback regarding learning technologies
- 5% Collects, organizes, interprets, and disseminates data to identify instructional program needs and enhance effectiveness
- 20% Designs, develops, or recommends multimedia learning materials. Facilitates communications with multimedia service providers to ensure instructional needs are met

Required
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or similar field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience actively working in designing digital learning experience (face to face web enhanced, blended, or fully online).
- Experience developing accessible digital learning objects (i.e., HTML/HTML5, CSS, Media production; graphic design, audio).
- Experience designing and developing digital learning experiences in a Learning Management System (LMS) or Content Management System (CMS).
- Experience in collaborating with subject matter experts in digital learning design.
- Experience in project coordination (project management processes and practices) moving projects from inception to deployment within scope, time, budget, and quality standards.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A value of promoting and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- A willingness to engage in and deepen knowledge of WIDA's Social Justice value.
