What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Assistant position at Unleashing Potential?
Unleashing Potential is looking for Program Assistants for our before and after school program at Atlas Public School located at 400 S. 18th St. St. Louis, MO 63103.
Please note: Before School hours are approximately 6:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and After School hours are approximately 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 pm.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Implements after school program under the supervision of the Site Coordinator/Manager. Give input into the creation of youth programming through daily direct interaction in classroom with children.
· Implements a variety of program components, including evidenced based curricula containing character education, STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts and Math), life skills, academic and nutrition and physical fitness activities for school aged children.
· Facilitates field trips and special events for children
· Assists in the development and implements lesson plans and prepares for daily activities.
· Facilitates regular group activities, (including educational, recreation, character building) and serves as a primary contact for students
· May provide individual tutoring with children
· Responsible for various weekly programmatic reports
· Distributes snacks and meals to children
· Other duties as assigned
Work Environment/Conditions:
· The ability to lift 25 pounds
· Frequent interruptions
· Performs functions in a high energy environment with children and youth
· Sitting, standing, eye strain, and walking
· Moderate to high noise levels
