Maksteel Processing powered by UPG is looking to fill a Logistics Dispatcher position. Maksteel Processing is looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers by providing high level of service, value-add opportunities, and professionalism in all interactions, allowing us to become a valued member of their supply chain and production teams.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Determine the best method of delivery and cost efficiency.
- Develop delivery routes and remain in contact with drivers throughout the day.
- Negotiate third-party shipping rates to get the most cost-effective solution, while meeting the needs of the customer.
- Ensure that all deliveries are made on time.
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules and ensure that any necessary heads up is given to them.
- Stay abreast of traffic and road conditions, correcting/adjusting routes as needed.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 years dispatch experience preferred
- Negotiation skills preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines, and changing priorities
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Display the ability to accurately use basic math skills
