The Shift Supervisor must possess the desire and ability to provide leadership and supervisory coordination in all aspects of production for the facility. The Plant Supervisor will be a true strategic partner in the Operations Division. The Supervisor must be able to plan, organize, control, and schedule the work of others as well as serve as communication link between management and plant personnel.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Monitor employee production and attendance reports to ensure performance and attendance standards are being met and take appropriate action as necessary.
· Monitor daily work schedules and assign tasks to ensure expectations are being met and adjust as necessary.
· Monitor quality work performed by operators and act if defective rate goes up.
· Monitor operators to ensure all safety policies and procedures are being met.
· Communicate technical problems and make recommendations for their resolution to the engineering staff.
· Complete annual performance appraisals and review with employees.
· Develop ongoing performance comments for staff.
· Coordinate and compile operating and capital budgets and plans.
· Consult with vendors on tooling, machinery, and miscellaneous supplies in order to maintain relationships and answer questions.
Position Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Possess principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written and oral form.
· Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Effective Leadership skills.
· Possess a working knowledge of shop math, basic engineering, and business calculations.
