What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift & 2nd Shift Welding - Apprentice position at UPI Manufacturing?
Looking for a new career in welding? UPI Manufacturing is a small family owned company in south-eastern Wisconsin! Our mission is to supply critical military vehicle components to the US Warfighter. We are looking for new welders that are currently enrolled in the welding program/certification course at a technical college. We are ready to help you grow at your skills and knowledge in welding!
Responsibilities:
- perform MiG/TiG welds
- Interpret blueprints to perform appropriate welds
- Use of forklifts, jib cranes, power hand tools
- Work with a team to accomplish all aspects of the welding department
- Deburring/grinding
- Use measuring equipment and gauges
- knowledge of set up and operation of welding machines
Qualifications
- Positive ready to learn attitude
- pass a weld symbol test
- pass an open-root MiG weld test
- pass a ballistic weld test
- Continue learning of weld tools and procedures
- Ability to handle physical workload of lifting 50 lbs. and stand for 8 hrs.
- Must maintain excellent attendance record
Regular Monday - Friday Hours
- 1st Shift 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
