UPMC West Mifflin Ambulatory Surgery Center is hiring a Full-Time RN to support the PACU!
West Mifflin Ambulatory Surgery Center has a patient surgical population of patients aged 13 years and older. There are 17 patient bays total between Pre-Op and the Recovery Room. There are 4 ORs. A variety of surgical cases performed at West Mifflin Ambulatory Surgery Center include Ophthalmology, ENT, GI, Orthopedics (upper and lower), Sports Medicine, Breast Cancer, General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Podiatry, Pain Management, and Pediatric cases. Over 150 surgeries are completed at the surgery center on average per month. The number of surgeries performed is growing each month. The West Mifflin Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art facility with free onsite parking, vended scrubs, no weekends, holidays, or call shifts located in the West Mifflin Outpatient Center.

The Professional Staff Nurse is a valued step in the UPMC nursing career ladder, with opportunities for continued growth and advancement. Title and salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience. Six months experience is required for Professional Staff Nurses.
Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the career ladder, based on their individual experience and education.
- Applies the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Formulates daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner. Practices solid communication skills, and is able to articulate and translate the patient's condition to other care providers and to negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices. Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers. Demonstrates critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological and spiritual issues for the patient care within an episode of care. Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience preferred in PACU/Pre-Post nursing.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 30 days of hire
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
