Description
UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is hiring a full-time Surgical Liaison to support the Same Day Surgery department! In this role, you will be working daylight hours Monday through Friday (M-W-F 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; T-Th 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
Purpose:
Assists patients, families, visitors and the staff of Surgical Services to provide the following services: provide information, triage calls, check in families, address and dispatch patient complaints, offer services and improve patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, family members, physicians, and staff.
- Alert Nurse Liasion and/or Manager to potential problems.
- Provide support and communication for patients families/visitors, surgeons and staff throughout the peri-operative process.
- Attend all required hospital training.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the staff as a whole.
- Follow recommended department guidelines for informing families/visitors of surgery process.
- Provide families with information as the patient proceeds through the operating room, PACU, and other areas.
- Ensure families are in the correct area during patients' surgery and are checked into the surgical family waiting room.
- Ensure positive customer service atmosphere and interactions in waiting room.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required.
- 1 year of experience in customer service is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare or as a greeter preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
