Summary

A Senior Account Executive is a passionate individual who is excited to help grow our sales and achieve aggressive sales targets. In this role, you will work on behalf of our in-house brands, as well as the partner brands we distribute. The mission of an Account Executive is both challenging and rewarding; we expect that you will enthusiastically spread awareness of our products, achieve sales goals, and carefully follow our company ethos of excellent customer service and professional conduct at all times. You will be expected to have the highest level of knowledge of our products and consistently work to educate yourself both on sales techniques as well as product knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with all significant retailers in the assigned territory.
  • Research potential new leads and open new accounts.
  • Make daily outbound calls & write emails to expand and develop sales within the assigned territory.
  • Upsell UpNorth’s products and services, while focusing on meeting customer needs.
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities in an organized and consistent manner.
  • Educate buyers and budtenders about the key aspects of UpNorth Distribution’s Menu offerings.
  • Conduct in-store, or online, education meetings for buyers and budtenders that highlight products on the UpNorth Menu.
  • Support sales through promotional events and merchandise fulfillment/ placement.
  • Follow up with clients regarding customer service issues and ensure customer needs are met and all tenable issues are resolved to the best of UpNorth’s ability.
  • Utilize collaborative cross functional team skills to work with Marketing, outside Sales, Logistics, and Operations departments.
  • Record information and ensure quality of data in SalesForce and other internal systems that support sales; process Sales Orders.
  • Harness company data and reporting tools to identify opportunities for utilization of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to drive growth, such as: opening new doors for UpNorth, expansion of UpNorth’s current distribution lanes, exposing and pinpointing where past sales have been lost or potentially could have been increased, highlighting accounts displaying incremental volume increases in their ordering cycles, and business insights clearly displaying areas for growth and profitability potential.
  • Attend all Sales Team meetings as required.
  • Monitor and meet your monthly sales goals with the assistance of the territory Sales Director; work to improve methods that achieve your goals.
  • Travel within assigned territory in personal vehicle to visit current and potential customers.
  • Maintain accurate and current account records in Customer Relations Management (CRM) software within the SFDC platform; track Opportunities and follow Leads.
  • Work cooperatively with other members of the Sales Team to meet goals or quotas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience in the Outside Sales profession and understand what it takes to close a sale.
  • 3 years related industry experience.
  • 3 years B2B Sales experience.
  • 2 years Cannabis B2B Sales experience.
  • 3 years CRM experience (Preferably SFDC).
  • Achieve aptitude in the skills required to promote, sell, and up-sell cannabis products and the services offered by UpNorth.
  • Detail oriented and are capable of managing the nuance of individual customer’s needs through close coordination with our sales, operations, and marketing teams.
  • Demonstrates the ability to pursue, organize, open, manage, support, and maintain client relationships.
  • Demonstrate aptitude in learning how to sell products requiring specific expertise and knowledge.
  • A personal commitment to achieving sales targets set by Management.
  • Experience with, and are able to maintain, proficiency within company tech platforms such as CRM, Google Sheets, Excel, etc.
  • Display effective communication, and active listening skills, when on phone calls, and in person, giving customers full attention and taking the time to understand each individual customer’s needs. Are able to maintain a calm and friendly presence throughout each customer interaction.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and thrive in a challenging environment.
  • Adapt to each situation quickly and are able to drive full ownership of your work. You are able to troubleshoot quickly, but also know the right times to ask for help.

Preferred

  • Passion/interest in cannabis industry.
  • Proven track record of growing B2B Sales month over month.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily off-site from company premises, and more so within potential and existing customers’ locations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and writing instruments.

Physical Demands

This is a semi-physically demanding position. To perform the required tasks of this position, an Account Executive needs to have and/or be able to:

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, mobile phone, etc.
  • Be able to efficiently operate a motor vehicle 75% of the time.
  • Be able to navigate uneven terrain, such as sidewalks, parking lots and city curbs.
  • Lift boxes and/or other items up to approximately 40 lbs. short distances.
  • Be able to effectively and correctly communicate via speech and writing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
