What are the responsibilities and job description for the URBN Yard Jockey position at URBN?
Reports To: Operations Manager
Schedule: Tuesday -Friday 630a-500p
Responsibilities
- Compliance with all safety and quality guidelines and regulations
- At direction of Management and/or Yard management system, move empty trailers to shipping doors, set loaded
- Safely maneuver a tractor and trailer combination vehicle in a compact yard area
- Safely enter and exit yard tractor numerous times per shift
- Safely maneuver equipment with good backing skills
- Transport trailers between two facilities located across the street from one another
- Lift and open trailer doors
- Maintain tractor in a clean, sanitary condition.
- Keep yard in order during shift
- Daily inspection of trailers
- Maintain trailer inventory
- Responsible for proper trailer seals
- May also assist in warehouse responsibilities as needed including forklift operation
- Responsible for other task within the employees training and skills as directed by the supervisor and/or department
- Ability to effectively communicate with all team members as well as with leads and supervisors of other
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
- Ability to complete assignments in the time allotted
- Ability to work independently
- Ability and willingness to cross train when opportunity arises
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
- All other duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager
Qualifications
- High school degree or GED required
- Must have a valid Class A, CDL
- Must have a current DOT physical
- Must have an acceptable driving record
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in the operation of a tractor trailer unit in a yard driver setting
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to manipulate a keyboard for extended periods of time
- Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time
- Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 50 pounds
- Operate warehouse equipment as required for position (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker) which requires
