Urology, P.C. is looking for a Medical Lab Tech to do specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results.
Microscope and blood processing experience preferred with a starting wage of $17.00 - $20.00 an hour based on experience.
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification has a starting wage of $22.00 - $26.00 an hour based on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Follows laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Responsible for remaining current on laboratory methods and trends, as well as initiating tests procedures and methodology.
- Maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
- Adheres to the laboratory’s quality control policies, documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- Follows the laboratory’s established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the laboratory consultant, nursing director, administrator or laboratory director.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
- Ensures accurate and appropriate completion of laboratory tests.
- Coordinates ordering and receiving laboratory supplies.
EDUCATION, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in a laboratory field preferred.
- MLT certification preferred, but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to stand for most of the shift.
