Strategy Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a new position being added to the U.S. Venture Strategy team based on growth. Our vision is to be the very best energy solutions provider dedicated to finding a better way toward a sustainable future. To support this objective, the Strategy Analyst will shape and drive the division’s growth by gathering & analyzing market & industry trends and data that is used in strategic viewpoints, Energy advisor thought leadership publications and partnering with finance/accounting to determine metrics needed for determining strategic planning success. The Strategy Analyst will be the cornerstone of the insights that shape our organization’s priorities and business development efforts and will work with internal and external partners to gather insights and advise on future direction.

This role will work a hybrid in-office/remote schedule from the Appleton/Green Bay, WI area or the Houston, TX area. Limited travel will be required to attend various industry events.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic Planning
  • Monitor & Report company and market performance to determine if strategies need to be adjusted or new strategies should be introduced
  • Participate in strategic planning process for division, adhering to organizational timelines and structure
  • Participate in the scheduling, workshop flow, ideation, and comprehensive initiative creation with established timelines and KPIs
  • Support development of key initiatives in collaboration with initiative owners
  • Assist initiative owners to propel momentum, reducing roadblocks along the way
  • Support the strategic plan communication throughout all levels of the division, so that all team members understand how the division is growing and how they contribute to its success
• Market Research
  • Identify, monitor, and report signals (Energy, Sustainability) both inside and outside the organization that could amplify or threaten divisional success
  • Identify, Share and Organize viewpoint data & information to build a viewpoint on established and emerging topics that are essential to divisional success
  • Collaborate as a Subject Matter Expert with marketing team to turn research into insight that is communicated internally & externally.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with business leaders, strategic partners and industry leaders that lead to insights and information used in Advisor, Viewpoints and strategic planning. 
  • Continually find a better way to differentiate, innovate, and grow within the market

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, political science, or economics.
• Prior experience participating in or leading market/industry research related projects, using a methodical process that analyzed problems, gathered information, generated options, and proposed a course of action
• Experience working with diverse individuals with different goals that led to productive discussions
• Experience scanning markets for signals and/or news that fed into growth opportunities
• Strategic mindset with examples of where you thought broadly, refined questions, and utilized analytical frameworks or processes.
• Examples of where you displayed High Emotional Intelligence and verbal and written communication skills that educated and influenced others; ability to “manage up”
• Demonstrated project management capabilities, setting acceptable timelines for initiatives, putting together project plans and calendars, and hitting deadlines
• Experience managing teams and partnering with multiple business functions a strong plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate throughout levels of an organization
• Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations
• Good listener
• Assertive yet personable and flexible
• Willing to travel, as necessary
