Job Description Position Summary: The site is looking for an Electrician with Power or industrial Controls experience to maintain and install electronic and pneumatic process control systems used in the manufacturing of industrial chemicals. The position will be responsible to repair, calibrate and install in good working condition primary measuring elements, transmitters, controllers and final control elements for measurement and control of flow, temperature, pressure, and weight. The Electrician must be able to work independently and as part of an electrical team of electricians, engineers, and other technical staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality production. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: E&I Technician II is able to work independently on all plant E&I equipment for routine troubleshooting and repairs (within the limits of the site policy) NCCER Industrial Maintenance Electrical & Instrumentation Certified Plus or demonstrated competency in the following knowledge and skills (in addition to skill requirements for a Support Technician: Grounding and bonding Electrical preventative and predictive maintenance (IR Testing, etc) Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment (transformers, switchgears, etc) Read and interpret E&I drawings (wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, one-line diagrams, motor controller diagrams, loop diagrams, etc.) Perform cleaning, flushing, and purging procedures Perform wire routing and termination Perform conduit bending and installation Perform instrumentation troubleshooting and calibrations Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild E&I equipment (control valves, motor operated valves, etc.) Understanding of 13.8KV Switchgear Operation Knowledge of Albemarle Standards and Specifications Ability to perform work safely and follow all Albemarle Safety Requirements Advanced diagnostic skills to evaluate performance of E&I equipment Continued demonstrated use of the tools and methods listed above Education and Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Technical programming certification is highly desired. Must have at least 4 years' experience in the Industrial controls field. Possess strong communication skills for interaction with all chemical plant employees. Ability to receive verbal and written direction including plant safety rules, policies and procedures and implement without direct supervision. Physical requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs., frequent walking, bending, stooping, balancing, ascending, and descending ladders, operating various mobile equipment, pulling, crouching, twisting and reaching. Requires handling tools and equipment necessary to perform above listed tasks. Environmental Conditions: Exposure to chemical plant manufacturing facilities. Must work both outside and inside and often in inclement weather conditions. Frequent exposure to noise and vibration.
