What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baseball/Softball Umpire position at USABL?
The USABL Umpire Association (UUA) is actively recruiting new and experienced umpires for the 2025 season to officiate games across New Jersey, Rockland County (NY), Staten Island, and Eastern Pennsylvania. With nearly 50,000 assignments expected, there will be abundant opportunities for those interested in umpiring youth to collegiate-level baseball.
Key Highlights of the Program:
- Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 16 years old in 2025.
- Game Schedule: Games are played daily, with most scheduled on weekends.
- Levels of Play: Games range from 7U (youth) to college-level competitions.
- Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience and game level. Flexibility: Umpires can determine how many games they wish to officiate.
- Equipment: Umpires need a uniform and equipment. The official uniform supplier is Smitteez, but equipment can be purchased from any source.
Training Opportunities:
- For those without experience, the Cadet Program offers free training sessions conducted by current or former NCAA umpires. Training is mandatory, and participants can choose the most convenient location listed on the registration form.
