Safety Functions
- Must know, understand, and abide by all safety rules, standards, and practices.
- Capable of enforcing all safety polices, rules, and procedures to all crew members, site contractors, and affected employees near the project site.
- Able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for this skill or job area.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area and complying with all housekeeping directives.
- Able to operate in a safe manner during normal and upset operational situations.
- Well versed in all USG and USG Construction safety policies and procedures.
- Completes permitting for critical lift situations.
Quality Functions
- Recognize and report areas of equipment malfunctions.
- Communicate any malfunctions to proper supervisory personnel.
- Responsible for the level of work performed by all site crew for the duration of the project.
- Readily able to recognize all craft areas where a standard of quality has not been maintained.
Operating Functions
- Possess an extended knowledge of all crafts and can direct trouble shooting all trades.
- Capable of overseeing the layout of all crews for the duration of the specific project assigned to.
- Able to effectively use a computer for the purposes of time sheet data entry, purchase order requisitioning, inventory audits, permits, event documentation and basic site administrative duties.
- Demonstrates the ability to lead through his/her actions, quality of work, and commitment to the company.
- Comfortable in serving as a liaison between USG plant facilities, corporate management, contractors, and employees.
- Capable of procuring site material for an efficient start-up and continued operation of the project.
- Supervise contractors on site performing work for USG construction or the specific site.
- Aware of the intricacies of project scheduling and scope; keeping them on time, on task, and on budget.
- Able to estimate projects for future bidding purposes.
- Possess the minimum tools required as defined in the Construction Services Required Tool List.
Teamwork/Administrative Functions
- Demonstrate the ability to cooperate with all levels of management, peers, and lower operator rate employees in all areas.
- Able and willing to effectively lead and properly supervise/train operators at lower rates on a daily basis to assist in their professional development in their trade.
- Understands the importance of completing assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner and their relationship to the success of the overall project.
- Supports the policies and procedures of the company and communicates/enforces them with fellow crew members.
- Knowledgeable of USG policies in areas of safety, labor law, benefits, and payroll procedures.
- Maintains a cost tracking summary and reports this information to Construction Services Manager.
- Conducts the new employee orientation for recently hired and/or transferred USGC operators.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Can make solid decisions for recommendations of disciplinary action when warranted.
- Able and willing to work assigned overtime as necessary.
- Perform other job duties as required.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
