Pharmacy Manager

Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital is seeking an experience Pharmacist to lead our team as the Pharmacy Manager!

The Pharmacy Manager responsibilities include:

• Provides services within the licensure of a pharmacist in the State of Arizona, to include the acquisition, storage and dispensing of pharmaceutical ordered by physicians. 
• Reviews orders, maintains patient profiles and evaluates drug/food interactions to assure effective and cost-efficient dosing.
• Maintains a hospital formulary and assures that the acquisition, storage, dispensing and documentation of all pharmaceutical and narcotics is performed in a safe and effective manner and meets the standards outlined by the Arizona Board of Pharmacy, DEA, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Arizona Department of Health and JC. 
• Serves as the pharmacist in charge, supervises other pharmacists, and pharmacy personnel.
• The pharmacy nurse liaison and assumes the on-call responsibilities for the pharmacy while organizing and directing a comprehensive program of pharmacy services. 
• Participates in hospital quality initiatives involving medications. 
• Actively participates in committees including Anesthesia Committee, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Environment of Care, and others as required. 
• Chairs the Antibiotic Stewardship Committee and provides drug expertise for stewardship activities.
• Partners with physicians to promote responsible and appropriate use of antibiotics in the facility. 
• Works with hospital leadership to ensure the antibiotic stewardship program contains the core elements outlined by the Centers for Disease Control.

• Degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy
• 1-3 years'' experience as a Pharmacy Manager in a hospital setting preferred
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
