Delivery Manager Overview
The Delivery Supervisor will manage day-to-day operations as they relate to scheduling, routing, unloading, staging, and the inventory process. This individual will be an essential part to the cornerstone of UST’s growth and success that is built upon the expectation that EVERY team member will Execute Excellence Every time - simply known internally as E3.
Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to)
- Communicates with customer and delivery team manager on progress and potential delays
- Completes any scheduled reporting
- Continuously monitors staff performance to maintain UST’s E3 standards
- Coordinates with the Operations Manager to utilize additional staff as needed for the department
- Directs and assists the drivers in accomplishing their deliveries
- Ensures that all shipping goals are obtained daily
- Ensures all in home damage claims and being properly handled
- Inspects the prep lines to ensure they are complete and in good condition
- Monitors routes through the routing system and maintains the tracking delivery logs
- Oversees loading and unloading of all delivery vehicles
- Supervises dispatch and scheduling personnel
- Updates client or company’s systems for tracking, billing, commissions and/or customer service
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
- Ability to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Knowledge of DOT compliance
- Previous experience in Distribution, 3PL, Logistics, Final mile, or XDT
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Valid Driver’s License
