We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Hickory, NC!
The Human Resources Generalist will assist in the daily functions of the Human Resources department including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist reports to the HR Director.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists with daily employment, benefit, or situational-related questions or concerns from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
- Attends and participates in employee development meetings, disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Manages the pre-employment, new hire orientation, and end of the 90-day period process for all employees.
- Prepares and facilitates performance evaluations for factory staff with the Production Supervisor and HR Director
- Assist with annual benefits enrollment and provide benefit information/explanations as required.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
- Schedules and facilitates meetings with HR and Operations to determine staffing needs
- Acquires background checks and schedules pre-employment drug screenings for new employees
- Creates relationships with the workforce by being present on the plant floor
- Maintains and audits employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Assists with the worker’s compensation claim process
- Oversees workplace policies such as attendance, overtime, and vacation
- Audits benefit elections and monthly bills
- Assists in the documentation of employee relations matters and safety-related processes
- Performs other HR-related duties and projects as required and assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, HR, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relative experience
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
- Excellent situational awareness and ability to adapt to employee demands
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Flexible to policy and workplace changes
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
