Company Description

Hello, we're UW

We’re a bunch of great people working together, solving problems and having fun. Together, we strive to find solutions to help the great people around us get on with the things that really matter in life.

How? It’s simple, we take the headache out of essential home services by providing them all in one place – energy, broadband, mobile, and even insurance.  That’s one provider, one account, one bill, and lots of savings.

We’re a truly unique FTSE 250 company with a business model that has real social impact at the heart of it. Being a part of the UW community you’ll join a working environment like no other - one where everyone matters - be it our customers, our partners or you, our people.

About the role

As a Sales Analyst you’ll work closely with the commercial manager and the Sales Operations team to tell the story of performance, bringing data and numbers to life, helping to shape the sales strategy and decision making.

You’ll learn how to read data, identify trends and make recommendations for change or improvement through troubleshooting, with a view to providing focus areas. You’ll learn how to create reports and dashboards, provide the Sales Operation team with meaningful information and help them drive performance and focus on growth.

By applying to become a Sales Analyst via a UW apprenticeship – not only will you get expert coaching and training, but you’ll experience invaluable on-the-job training in your new role, and you‘ll earn yourself a Level 3 Data Citizen professional qualification.

What the training will look like

This opportunity is much more than just a job. It’s a chance to earn whilst you learn, with full support and coaching from an experienced Development Coach with excellent industry experience.

As part of the role, you’ll undertake the Level 3 Data Citizen apprenticeship. This Cambridge Spark programme is designed to empower you to develop a strong understanding of the value and opportunities that are possible with the smart use of data.

Across 13 months, you will undertake expert-designed modules delivered remotely, whilst receiving coaching, attending check-ins and submitting assignments.

You will be completely supported throughout the programme, and get monthly check-ins, mentoring, and coaching sessions. Plus, you’ll also have access to the very latest online Data analytics training.

What you’ll do (and learn)

During the 13 month apprenticeship, you will:

  • Deliver material in a clear, concise and professional manner through both verbal and written mediums.
  • Analyse daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports and use them to discover areas where the business can improve, or flag any concerns.
  • Be able to make commercially led decisions and build business cases accordingly.
  • Be the driver for the forecasting and trading plan for the sales department.
  • Own the sales department incentive scheme, (including creation, budget and reporting on spend and effectiveness.)
  • Own the department reporting and produce regular analysis packs that accurately convey performance.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Operations team, helping to drive performance and ensuring that KPIs are hit.
  • Be working with other teams across UW to ensure priorities are aligned.
  • Be able to explain clearly how certain factors are able to impact performance and the trading KPIs.
  • Be the SME and point of call for the department level performance against trading KPIs.

About you

To be both successful in the role and in gaining the qualification, you are the kind of person who:

  • Has a passion for detail and loves data.
  • Is a brilliant collaborator and communicator.
  • Has a desire to learn and grow.
  • Is motivated to succeed.
  • Has a determined mindset.
  • Is naturally resilient.
  • Is able to work autonomously and manage their own time.
  • Has experience using Office software suites and analytical data tools such as Excel.
  • Has not already got a qualification in data or data analytics.
  • Lives in England (due to the rules around apprenticeships delivered in England.)

Skills you'll build

  • Possess a deep understanding of data, with the ability to link quantity and quality inputs to produce actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Understand commercial KPIs and their relationship with operational KPIs.
  • Know which levers drive performance and are able to set up tests to explore how the levers work.
  • Be able to interpret results and use the learnings to inform decisions.
  • Have a results driven mentality. You’ll be able to continually critique and optimise performance with a positive mindset.
  • Be able to work with the product owners, operation, support and commercial teams to ensure the leadership team to make informed and timely trading decisions.
