Responsibilities:
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by a pathologist
- Perform routine and specialized histology procedures, including embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting of tissue specimens
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and documentation of specimens
- Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely results
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Histology or related field
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) preferred
- Experience working in a research laboratory or hospital setting is a plus
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with specimen collection, processing, and handling protocols
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
- Strong organizational and time management skills
