The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, awarding, documenting, and managing suppliers for both material and service-based requirements. In this role, the person will be responsible for placing requirements on purchase order in the most efficient and compliant manner.

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, awarding, documenting, and managing suppliers for both material and service-based requirements. In this role, the person will be responsible for placing requirements on purchase order in the most efficient and compliant manner.
Responsibilities Include
- Identify qualified suppliers for program requirements
- RFQ (request for quote) activities
- Analyze supplier quotes and make sourcing decisions
- Supplier negotiations on price, lead times and terms & conditions
- Purchase Order documentation
- Post-award ownership in accordance with company directives and work instructions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office application including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to balance workload by multi-tasking
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Prior procurement experience
- Experience using SAP (Procurement functions, Business Warehouse, Business Objects)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.)
- Experience with Six Sigma and productivity improvement
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience
