We are looking for an Health and Safety Advisor with solid HSSE background to join our team! PURPOSE The Health and Safety (HS) Advisor is an internal consultant providing an enabling business support role. The HS Advisor is a trusted partner and has a seat at the leadership table working on medium to longer term objectives. Responsible for designing practical approaches that support staff to integrate safe behaviours into everyday activity and ensures the principles of health and safety are reflected in business decisions at all levels. Through coaching and advice, guide managers and their teams in the adoption of best practice safety leadership Support management to ensure full compliance with National and local health and safety regulations. Lead the health and safety vision, including role modelling great personal and team leadership and taking an active role in ensuring the health and safety Operating System is embedded successfully. Health and Safety expertise and knowledge to facilitate business operation PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES LEADERSHIP & ENGAGEMENT Assist and support the HSSE Manager with development, implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety programs. Assist and support the Senior Management Team to guarantee full legal compliance for health and safety aspects and regulations. Effectively perform all the duties and responsibilities foreseen for the role of RSPP (ex D. Lgs. 81/08) and Responsabile Merci Pericolose (ex. Ord. 4/Svil Autorità Portuale di Genova) Provide an excellent cross functional partnership service to plan, facilitate and enable the achievement of HS goals and priorities, including projects for improvements and Kaizen. Provides HS expertise and knowledge to facilitate business operations and assist in the development of Emergency plans, Safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments. Influence colleagues and key stakeholders within business unit to become effective Safety Leaders. Through role modelling what great looks like; regular engagement and attendance at stakeholder forums; and provide guidance in compliance with applicable company standards and International laws and regulations Maintain appropriate professional working relationships with customers, shipping lines, contractors and vendors, Government agencies and their representatives, trucking communities, terminal departments and the Union workforce. Ensure they are aware and are compliant with our safety regulations and policy. Perform all other job-related duties as required. RISK ASSESSMENT Support Datore di Lavoro and Delegated to identify hazards, assess risks and related mitigation actions for the workplaces, delivering a proper Documento di Valutazione dei Rischi according to D. Lgs. 81/08 Support all functions and Contract Owners to prepare a proper Documento Unico Valutazione Rischi Interferenziali (DUVRI) Support all functions and Contract Owners to implement a proper control of contractors, according to the Global Standard Ensure that a proper risk assessment is prepared and approved for all processes, SOPs and Work Instruction which could have an impact on HS aspects INCIDENT/EMERGENCY MANAGAMENT & IMO Ensure IMO Goods are managed in a safe way, according to internal procedure and local regulations Implement, review and periodically update Emergency Response Plan Ensure that Emergency Response Team is properly trained and prepared on Emergency Response Plan Support functions to manage incidents according to internal SOPs, and be part of incident investigation GEMBA AND OPERATIONAL CONTROLS Support Leaders to achieve Health and Safety targets and objectives set by Global and local team (e.g. gemba, critical controls) Perform daily Gemba supporting OPS and AM functions in the daily management and control on the terminals Support functions to identify and implement corrective actions to close identified gap/observations, trough Company tool (e.g. GIZMO) Support ISO Management System Specialist to perform periodical audit on health and safety aspects, including contractors activities At APM Terminals, we are a team of over 20,000 employees spread across more than 60 countries united by a passion to provide our expertise in port operations and container management services.
