The Account Executive position plays an ultimate role in our everyday success as a company by driving growth through acquisition of new customers and retention and growth of existing customers. The Account Executive will be the external face of Valley Companies and develop customer relationships by communicating VC’s value proposition of customized supply chain solutions delivered through agility and responsiveness to customer needs. An Account Executive will have the ability to sell across all Valley Companies’ solutions (Final Mile, LTL, Truckload, Warehouse, Expedited and Managed Transportation) giving them ultimate flexibility to acquire business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Achieve annual revenue and margin goals by developing new business through selling of all VC’s 3PL solutions to new customers and gain market share with existing customers
- Develop customer pipeline through prospecting efforts; ensure CRM is updated with opportunities and future pipeline aligns with revenue goals
- Be accountable to sales activity metrics and complete CRM updates with meeting, call, and email activities
- Work with Marketing and Account Management teams to build prospect lists and qualify prospect opportunity levels; implement and execute strategies to convert prospect data to revenue generating customers
- Generate customer Request for Proposals (RFPs) and work with Pricing team to develop and communicate results of RFPs to customers
- Participate in customer Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to understand where growth opportunities exist within current portfolio; develop follow-up plan of action to convert opportunities into revenue
- Work cross functionally with Operations, Account Management, and Finance to ensure successful customer onboarding and launch
- Maintain a strong understanding of the transportation industry, including rates, carriers, load capacities, and equipment

REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- 2 years of experience in sales (preferably in a 3PL environment)
- Local travel within market; possibility to travel nationally depending on opportunities.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Learned knowledge in Microsoft Office
- Effective communication, negotiation, and networking skills
- Creative problem-solving approach, strong analytical skills, ability to multi-task, work in groups, and attention to detail
- Phone, email, face-to-face etiquette, clerical procedures, managing files, records retention, and customer service skills to effectively accomplish duties.
