Human Resources Specialist

This position is a full-time position.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Specialist will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Effectively understands and uses HR systems.
2. Maintains visibility and is available to answer question and hold in person onboarding sessions.
3. Executes the employee onboarding and participates in New Hire orientation.
4. Assist with talent recruitment and manages the process of all postings.
5. Develops job descriptions and manages all postings.
6. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that are customer or employee centric.
7. Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation in UKG.
8. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
9. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
10. Performs periodic audits of HRIS records to ensure that all required documents are collected and upload appropriately.
11. Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors,
12. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree in related field preferred.
• Prior related office experience preferred. 
• Prior UltiPro or Kronos experience a plus.
