Valley Youth Theatre is looking for a detail-oriented Finance professional to join our team. If you like numbers and spreadsheets and being a part of an amazing non-profit, this job is for you! The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and ensuring accuracy of all financial transactions. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment. The ideal candidate must know Quickbooks desktop and Excel, have an excellent attention to detail and be a good person to be around. Did we mention the attention to detail?
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all accounting functions including but not limited to Payroll preparation, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, Fixed Asset Records, General Journal Entries.
- Generate invoices for school field trip shows, production and VYTal sponsorships, Board of Director dues, City of Phoenix utility and fire monitoring reimbursements, etc.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll and tax filings.
- Prepare W-2’s and 1099’s for employees and independent contractors on an annual basis.
- Calculate royalty payments post-production and reconciling ticket revenue between ticketing software and QuickBooks.
- Prepare monthly financial packet for Finance Committee and Board of Directors Meetings including Profit and Loss Statements on an accrual and modified cash basis, Statement of Financial Position, Temporary Restricted Net Assets, Financial Summary and Notes regarding Financial Operations.
- Gather and prepare all schedules and documentation necessary for preliminary and final audit field work and 990 preparation each year.
- Complete all programming and financial budgeting, interim and final reporting for all grants and funding sources as required.
- Provide requested financial reports as necessary
- Gather and prepare all schedules and documentation necessary for preliminary and final Worker’s Compensation audit each year.
- Maintain Independent Contract onboarding paperwork and documentation (including W-9, Contracts, Waiver of Worker’s Comp Coverage, Direct Deposit information, Fingerprint Clearance or Background Check.)
- Track Simple IRA deductions from payroll and contributions and prepare documentation and disbursement to applicable financial institutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience.
- Budgetary and fiscal experience from budget planning and development required.
- Superior writing, organization, and communication skills required.
- Strong computer skills required: MS Word and Excel required; proficient with QuickBooks and experience with Audience View ticketing and database platforms preferred.
