What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Accountant position at ValueHealth?
The Center Accountant has management oversight of assigned facilities financial reporting, and produces financial statements for those facilities, including account reconciliations, accounts payable processing, budget review and cash management. This role coordinates with facility staff, operations and ValueHealth management to accomplish financial goals.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field
- 3-5 years of experience
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
- Thorough knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures
- Interpersonal skills
- Skills to communicate accounting concepts to non-accounting personnel
- Skills to analyze and research accounting issues
- Ability to multitask efficiently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Time management to meet financial, audit, budget and tax deadlines
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment
- Experience with Sage accounting software
Essential Functions
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate financial statements.
- Provide operational accounting support.
- Monitor cash flow and bank balances, alerting appropriate parties of any concerns.
- Provide accurate accounts payable processing.
- Perform regular account reconciliation.
- Provide external audit and tax support.
- Accurately reflect operational/financial transactions using appropriate GL codes.
- Possess strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
