What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Partner (DSP) position at Values Into Action Inc?
Values Into Action provides individualized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to help people to design and live their best lives, and be active members within their communities.
As a Support Partner (DSP) you will be providing direct support in partnership with people with disabilities, on a one-to-one basis, in their own homes and communities. Services include that of community involvement and/or accommodation with activities of daily living including personal care, communication, transportation and recreation.
A very hardworking and fun-loving man in the Wayne, PA area is looking for an ideal staff to assist with activities of daily living and to support his everyday life in the home with his mother and sometimes out in the community. He works as a table setter/clearer at a restaurant, but when he’s not at work there are many activities that he likes to do throughout the home and out in the community. These activities outside of work include singing in a choir, playing a multitude of card games/games on his phone and tablet, cooking various recipes and writing ideas for movies that he comes up with. He is also a big Philadelphia sports fan! The ideal staff will be able to multitask, organize and participate in this man’s preferred activities. We are looking for a supports partner who is outgoing, energetic, sociable and patient, who will ensure that this man lives his best, safe and happy everyday life.
SCHEDULE:
MONDAY 3:30pm-5:30pm
TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY 5pm-8pm
Qualifications:
● A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year experience supporting people to live in the community.
● Possession of a valid driver's license with a safe driving record
● Access to a reliable vehicle, proof of current vehicle registration, inspection, and insurance
● 18 years of age or older
● Be or willing to be Covid-19 Vaccinated prior to employment
● Personal or professional experience with people with intellectual disabilities and a mental health diagnosis is a plus but not a requirement
