How You’ll Make an Impact
The Procurement Manager will develop and direct global raw material sourcing strategies to support key commercial unit requirements and objectives. Continuously manage the execution of these strategies to ensure that Valvoline obtains the best overall value, as well as a reliable, secure supply of these critical raw materials. In the role, you would be responsible for:
- Business Needs - Be Valvoline's subject matter expert in the raw material catagory. Provide information, analysis and support to the technology, supply chain, sales and marketing teams for segment business analysis.
- Developing sourcing strategies for each key material to include: 1) assessment of key business needs/fully understanding the external environment; 2) generating, analyzing and executing RFQ's; 3) performing industry analysis, supplier analysis and competitive analysis; 4) developing market forecast/cost structure analysis; 5) SWOT analysis/selection of strategic choices and interventions; 6) tactical execution plan and business continuity plan; 7) monitoring and measuring success
- Vendor Risk Mitigation - Ensure vendors are appropriately chosen, managed and monitored to mitigate risk associated with supply interruption, environmental liability, cyber and legal liability. Manage supply plan and resolve supply issues.
- Commercial Terms - Develop and execute a sourcing strategy and negotiate commercial terms to deliver optimal cost and support Valvoline's financial and operational objectives.
- Quality Service - Establish and measure quality standards for each area ensuring standards are consistently up-to-date and standards are met.
- Supplier Relationship Management - Use relationship management techniques to generate maximum long-term value.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of three years' purchasing experience or six years relevant experience
- Superior relationship building skills
- Excellent data analytics skills
- Collaboration skills, team oriented
- Detail oriented
- Must be skilled at communication across all levels of the organization, from C-Level to operations team at the plant level
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
What Will Set You Apart
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred, Bachelor of Science in Engineering strongly preferred
