Institutional Product Marketing is seeking a marketing leader who is passionate about developing and successfully executing strategies that drive consideration for Vanguard's dynamic and growing Institutional Advice business. The successful candidate will apply the principles of product marketing to engage our audience in an evidence-based and results-driven conversation about the benefits of financial advice.
Job Description Summary:This marketing strategist role will be aligned to our Institutional Advice offer, which is a key area of focus for the IIG business. You will work closely across Institutional marketing teams, Sales/Client teams, and IIG business teams with a focus on driving Vanguard advice adoption within our population of Institutional full-service clients. This important work will help drive awareness and consideration for Vanguard's suite of advice services, bringing our brand and offer to life, and demonstrating the value that advice can provide for our Plan Sponsor clients and their participants. Leads the strategic vision and oversight for marketing initiatives related to Advice within the institutional business, demonstrating a deep understanding of the product(s). Products/services may have enterprise-wide implications.
An ideal candidate will have:• Financial Advice acumen (or be able to quickly develop)- a working knowledge of Vanguard's advice products and how they fit in the ecosystem of alternatives• Strategic thinker and communicator: Ability to navigate ambiguity, develop a plan to operationalize across channels and segments, and align to clear OKRs. Can communicate and frame strategic messages in a clear and compelling manner.• Organizational agility: Thrives in fast-paced environments, prioritizes stakeholder management, can facilitate decision-making and drive results across cross-functional teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Independently initiates and / or leads channel marketing programs, initiatives, promotions or research projects.
- Creates channel marketing plans by translating business objectives into defined channel marketing goals, strategies, and tactics. Aligns channel marketing activity with deep understanding of sales strategy and targeted market.
- Provides guidance and consultation on channel marketing best practices and common obstacles based on prior experiences. Directs channel marketing plans that are well-informed by the competitive landscape and suited for the regulatory environment.
- Serves as a trusted advisor and internal expert to ensure the right solution is developed for various partners. Proactively communicates status and issues of channel marketing activity regularly to stakeholders, including sales professionals, business leaders, team members, and senior managers.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships. Proactively fosters communication between internal department and external departments stakeholders. Influences key decisions across stakeholder groups.
- Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks on channel marketing activities. Communicates solutions on key issues on channel marketing activity to management and stakeholders to obtain their input and buy-in as appropriate.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years related work experience, two years of marketing experience.
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing or equivalent experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
