What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Production position at VARC, Inc?
Job Summary
Directed and supervised by the Production Supervisor or Division Supervisor, the General Production Employee is responsible for assembling and packaging product according to Customer Specification.
Essential Functions
1. Read and process detailed written orders, may communicate these to other team members as requested.
2. Produce quality work output at a minimum measured rate of 90%.
3. Accurately count, process, weigh, & package consumer goods meeting quality control standards.
4. Perform tasks with great efficiency and consistency throughout the day while maintaining quality.
5. Practice safety awareness while on the job to reduce risk of injury to self or others.
6. Visually inspects products for defects, setting aside defective items and identify as instructed.
7. Assemble and pack items in designated cartons per customer order.
8. Place identification labels on carton or complete skid per customer orders.
9. Complete cross training for a variety of production tasks, and rotate throughout department as business needs change; participates in cross training new employees, as directed.
10. Assist in keeping accurate records of production and hours on job.
11. Report all discrepancies to supervisor.
12. May act as a material handler in moving materials to production line.
13. May assist in training employees on new jobs.
14. Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility.
15. Able to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
16. Accept other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Strong attention to detail and concern for quality; confidence to offer recommendations for improvement, and the ability to take direction as given.
2. Is timely and consistent in working agreed upon hours and days. Maintains strong attendance and arranges coverage plans when necessary. Maintains exemplary attendance, demonstrated by consistent full time status.
3. Self-motivated and seeks out new tasks when necessary.
4. Ability to show initiative in problem solving and resolution of work problems.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.50 - $12.00 per hour
