What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient transport position at VCU Health?
The Patient Transport Tech I transports patients with an automated external defibrillator (AED) to and from nursing units in support of direct patient care.
Responds to and assists with medical emergencies and Telemetry messages from cardiac monitoring devices in order to notify clinicians or technologists appropriately.
Provides assistance by managing patient flow to the Emergency Department and Bed Management to prevent and relieve diversions and high census.
Ensures patient safety utilizing Behavior Expectation for Error Prevention (BEEP) tools. Works collaboratively with fellow team members to provide a safe, caring, respectful and comfortable experience for all.
Assists with emergency medical responses.
