Responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other CAD software to create detailed survey drawings, maps, and plans.
- Analyze and interpret field survey data to produce accurate drawings, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, various Plats, construction layout plans, and staking diagrams.
- Assist in the preparation of topographic, boundary, and construction survey plans.
- Collaborate closely with surveyors and engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of survey data.
- Review and verify survey measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Maintain and update survey records, drawings, and files in accordance with company standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of CAD standards and procedures.
- Support field survey crews by assisting with data collection and processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CAD-related issues as they arise.
Work Environment:
- Primarily based in the Lisle, IL office, with occasional visits to field sites.
- Flexible work schedule options to accommodate work-life balance.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, surveying, civil engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in survey drafting and CAD.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D is preferred.
- Strong grasp of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to interpret survey notes, maps, and construction plans effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with GPS, total station, and other surveying instruments is advantageous.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting objects across various terrains.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Adherence to Illinois Department of Labor regulations and federal employment laws, including non-discrimination policies.
