About the Opportunity
Venminder is seeking an Accounting Associate reporting to our Accounting Specialist. In this role you will assist the accounting team in managing, processing, and troubleshooting various account and transactions, included but not limited to accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, and payroll. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is detail-oriented, and can effectively interact with a team. The compensation package includes benefits.
What you’ll do
- Support duties related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Create, send, and follow up on invoices.
- Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets.
- Assist with preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports.
- Analyze financial information in order to identify discrepancies.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financials and payroll data.
- Interpret and apply generally accepted accounting principles, rules, and regulations.
- Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries.
- Collect information and process payroll.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What you'll bring
- At a minimum, an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field. Bachelor’s degreed is preferred but not required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience can be substituted.
- 1-3 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience.
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting software. NetSuite preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, growing company.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
