Position Purpose:
Responsible for mechanical and piping drawings for architectural and structural features based on specifications and calculations. Collaborates with the design, purchasing and production teams on projects. Works with operations, engineering and field engineering on projects.
Primary Duties/responsibilities:
- Create isometric, structural, process flow, piping and instrumentation, and other drawings using computer aided drafting programs
- Assist in developing survey maps and layouts
- Participate in project design development
- Work closely with contractors and the maintenance department on capital and maintenance projects
- Manage drawing files and equipment specifications
- Copy and scan project drawings, document productions
- Provides instructions to contractors related to the design of projects
- Create field sketches of drawing for projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience / Background:
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
- Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2 to 4 years in technical drawings experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Proficiency with computer aided drafting
- Proficiency with piping and structural design
- Good problem solving / analysis
- Knowledge of OSHA PSM standard
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail
