Veranova is a global leader in process development and manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), focused on specialty niches with expertise in highly regulated and complex chemistries. Veranova is headquartered in Wayne, PA and has operations in North America and Europe. This role is based at our Edinburgh manufacturing site.
Reporting directly into the Finance Director, the UK Finance Manager will assist the wider finance team across a broad remit, encompassing exposure across business functions at all levels.
There is considerable variety and scope for development in the role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and board reports
- Preparing weekly and monthly submissions to US Group HO
- Commercial pricing / modelling / evaluation of investment opportunities / cap ex
- Intercompany transactions, balances and consolidations
- Management of the payroll process and ensure compliance
- Providing insight, commentary and analysis across a wide range of financial matters to key stakeholders
- Preparing and reviewing short and long-term forecasts
- Preparing and reviewing weekly cash forecasts
- Cashflow management
- Assisting with the preparation of the business plan
- Managing the annual audit process and preparation of Statutory filings for all European entities
- Ensuring compliance with tax legislation e.g. CT, VAT and R&D tax credits
- Line management responsibilities ensuring all ledgers are maintained and key reporting deadlines are achieved
- Supporting the testing and development of the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and working closely with the Finance Team to identify process improvements and operational consistency
- Line management responsibility, training and development activities of direct reports
- Assisting with ad hoc projects in the company
Experience Required:
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA, or CIMA);
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational and analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial complexity into terms that enable decision-making
- Advanced Excel skills associated with large volumes of data, data management, and reporting
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Positive attitude and adaptable approach to work
