Emerging Leader
As a Verde Assistant Manager (AM), you’ll participate in our Emerging Leadership Program as a facilities services apprentice. Your training will include all the skills you need to manage site operations, sustainability, finance, safety, human resources and people management, marketing, and technology implementation. Assistant Managers will obtain leadership skills and exposure to every aspect of our business with the intent for promotion to a management position within our company as we grow.

- Operational Excellence. You’ll learn everything you need to know about the facilities services industry including our core service offerings: green cleaning, recycling and composting. You’ll eventually take on a supervisory role. You’ll walk buildings and conduct audits, use our products and equipment, and interact with clients, crew members, and vendors to ensure operational excellence at our site(s).

- Safety Vibes. You’ll learn all about OSHA regulations and how to foster a safety vibes culture. You’ll receive safety training, as well as participate and lead daily stretch and flex exercises and safety chats. Eventually, you’ll become a safety superhero in and outside of work.
- People Management. =You’ll learn how to lead and motivate a team of employees, including hiring, training, disciplinary action, and performance management. You’ll also gain a better understanding of state and federal labor laws and regulations, benefits administration, and when and how to involve human resources. Depending on your assigned site, you may also learn how to partner with local or industry unions.
- Process & Technology Implementation. As we implement new processes, you’ll have a chance to help roll out new them out along with tools and technology to ensure a seamless transition. You’ll learn about change management and how to mitigate fears associated with a transition. If the timing works out, you’ll get to help us transition a brand new client account from Day One.
- Marketing & Storytelling. Every site has a story and you’ll learn to tell yours-from ongoing customer communication and quarterly business reports (QBRs) to maximizing social media and getting the most out of all the good things happening at your designated site(s).
- Finance & Procurement. Manage budgets, approve site payroll, and more! You’ll get to order eco-friendly products and equipment, learn about how we source responsibly, and help manage vendors.
- Culture Cultivation: At Verde, it’s all about our Verde Vibes culture. You will help plan team appreciation events, encourage Verde Vibes, and promote diversity, equity and inclusion. You’ll bring your own vibe to our program to make us stronger and more innovative.
- Leadership Skills. With access to every department head and feedback from your mentor, you’ll learn a variety of different management styles. Both formal and informal training, as well as on the job experience will help make you a stronger leader for your future crew.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent or 1-2 years of previous experience as a manager or supervisor preferred, but not required.

Work Location:
This program is currently being offered in Phoenix, Arizona and Fort Collins, Colorado. It is preferable if the candidate has the ability to move to another state as Verde grows with exciting new Fortune 1000 customers.
Hours:
40 hours week | 24/7 Emergency response availability
Compensation: $50,000 per year DOE
