What you’ll be doing...
As a Business Development Client Partner for Verizon Public Sector, you'll play a key role in driving profitable growth in Federal Civilian accounts. You’ll act as a resource for all things government sales, providing strategic account planning, managing C-level relationships, developing pipeline, and positioning Verizon to win business. The BD Client Partner will manage the Department of Interior (DOI) account and will be responsible for:
Account Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with C-Level client executives
- Advise to senior client stakeholders, co-creating connectivity, security and IT strategy with agency CIO/CTO/CISO
- Build trust and credibility at all levels within the agency, identifying customer priorities and ensuring Verizon Public Sector has a key role in achieving them through successful positioning and shaping
Strategic Account Planning
- Develop 1-year and 3-year account plans for assigned accounts keeping in mind Verizon’s changing product suite and market landscape
- Develop long-term account plans by gathering industry, technology and customer insights and turning these into actionable strategies to support Public Sector growth objectives
- Developing and implementing business development strategies to acquire new business as well as grow existing business
Pipeline Development, Opportunity Identification and Qualification
- Develop strategies to drive upsell and cross-sell revenue in assigned accounts by identifying, qualifying and managing pursuit of new growth opportunity
- Managing pipeline, forecasting sales, monitoring progress against goals, anticipating resource requirements and planning work to grow your assigned accounts
- Assisting in the consultative selling sales process, ensuring customer needs are understood and met, advising on the best solutions, and helping to shape and close deals
This position requires that you are an effective and inspiring leader and enjoy working in a dynamic environment having the ability to balance competing demands and priorities. You have the business acumen and executive presence to establish credibility with the c-suite, and you’re energized by the prospect of solving the next generation of government mission problems – while landing the next big sale.
This is a hybrid role and will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Six or more years in business development and/or sales roles in the technology industry.
- Business development and account management experience in Federal Civilian agencies like Department of Interior (DOI) and/or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
- Experience managing and influencing client relationships at the senior executive level.
- Prospecting, funnel management and account management skills.
- A track record of strong sales results, individually and as a team.
- A valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
- A degree.
- Business Development experience in multiple Federal Civilian agencies.
- Experience achieving results in a complex, distributed organization and providing complex, multi-department, IT/Telecom Services to government clients.
