The Verizon Global Talent Acquisition team is charged with tactically recruiting Military Veteran professionals for business critical vacancies within Verizon. In addition to actively recruiting top talent in the global marketplace, Verizon has an Elite Military Recruiting team which supports a comprehensive Military Strategy. This team partners closely with the functional leaders and HR Business Partner teams to proactively identify and address talent needs within the respective functions.

Efficiency, consistency, disciplined project delivery, and innovation are core to the success of our Talent Acquisition. The Military Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing and presenting highly qualified Veteran Talent to Verizon’s corporate recruiters and Operations Managers for current openings.

As part of Verizon’s Elite Military team you will be responsible for building a candidate pipeline, attending career fairs both in person and virtually along with networking events based on their area of industry expertise. The Military recruiter will be assigned an area of operation where you will increase Verizon’s Military Brand by engaging with the local veteran communities, military installations and key centers of influence to showcase Verizon as an employer of choice.

  • Relationships building to create a forecast funnel of highly qualified veteran talent.
  • Liaison for Veterans organization responsible for operational performance review, supporting Verizon’s Military recruiting strategy.
  • Recommends Military recruiting strategies surrounding Veteran hiring and cross-functional talent and any additional, pertinent suggestions to improve overall Talent Acquisition effectiveness in support of business success.
  • Manage Veteran applicants and communicate metrics to organizational leaders.
  • Closely work with Verizon Corporate recruiters in sourcing candidates for targeted industry concentration across the Verizon Enterprise.
  • Maintain effective collaborative relationships with various military Transition Assistance Program offices, Military Installations and other resource groups that support Veteran, Spouses and Wounded Warriors.
  • Utilize a variety of resources to source candidates including: job boards, cold calls, creative online searches, internal job posting site, and employee referral program.
  • Conduct telephone and in-person interviews to evaluate applicants and refer qualified candidates to Verizon’s Corporate Recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Utilize Social Media Platforms to enhance Verizon’s Military Branding in support of the Military Strategy.
  • Actively review pipeline databases for current vacancies as well as pending opportunities and forward to recruitment teams for review and consideration.

In this role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Recruiting experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Three or more years of military recruiting experience.
  • Expert understanding of Military skill-sets from all branches of the Armed Forces.
  • Translating veteran experience to corporate skills.
  • Understanding inter functions of large Corporate environments.
  • Utilize social media and identify other creative solutions to proactively engage prospects for career opportunities.
  • Skilled in utilizing G-Suite, ATS programs and recruiting dashboards.
  • Experienced using Social Media platforms and ability to virtually network for highly desired professionals.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships, recruit high caliber talent, and influence selection decisions.
  • Must be able to adapt to a fast paced environment with competing priorities.
