What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meteorologist position at Versar, Inc.?
Versar is seeking Meterologists to join a dynamic team designed to utilize meteorological analysis to minimize client risk. The team is dedicated to specialized meteorological and climate/resilience services for a wide range of clients. This position will involve preparing weather forecasts. The candidate’s workplace can be remotely from any part of the United States or from our Germantown Maryland office.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related area
- 0-5 years of meteorological experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Excellent forecasting skills
- High degree of attention to detail and situational awareness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (briefings, video etc.)
- Ability to deal with stressful weather situations and meeting deadlines along with the ability to distill complex situations down to a simple level when required
- Able to collaborate in a team setting as well as working independently
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
