Job Summary:

The Project engineer will be responsible for effective project management by ensuring completion of the projects i.e., from initiation to completion - which will be primarily include project planning, budget approval, developing scope of work, managing project implementation qualities, and ensuring Safety measures. He needs to work out priorities and deadlines for all the jobs and work orders involved in Project.

Responsibilities:

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility will be for planning job for effective initiation and completion of Project;
  • To undertake project planning, budget approval, developing scope of work, managing project implementation qualities/standards, and ensuring adequate safety measures.
  • To adequately assess needs vs. available resources and determine deployment of resources from in-house vs. outside contractors.
  • To undertake discussions and planning with all the relevant personnel regarding job expectations, the project scope, objectives, completion date, plant impact, cost, and other items and properly delegate work assignments with priorities and deadlines.
  • To work out priorities and deadlines for all the jobs and work orders involved in Project and negotiate price and delivery dates for purchases and supply of items and services.
  • To interact with other departments like electrical, utilities, for deliveries of items/resources in order to maintain the project deadlines.
  • To discuss with personnel division for deployment of manpower (in-house) with respect to management of Project.

  • Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
  • Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
  • Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

  • Active participation in continuous improvement activities
  • Participates in problem-solving
  • Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
  • Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
  • Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance

Qualifications/Desired Skills:

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical

Experience:

  • 5 yrs

  • Excellent proficiency within Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Critical thinking and conflict resolution skills and analytical abilities which allow assessment of customer service issues, situations, and opportunities
