Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager is an active member of the site Leadership Team. As a manager they should be proactive in identifying and correcting all at-risk conditions and behaviors in their department. Exhibiting leadership and building trust and credibility is necessary to achieve department goals and objectives.
The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring sales orders paperwork is prepared by selecting lots and printing labels. The Manager is responsible for coordinating the logistics for domestic and international shipments where delivery terms are required. They are responsible for completing and organizing all shipping and receiving paperwork. This includes purchase order receipts, bill of ladings and any other paperwork required.

Management requirements
- Responsible for managing all logistics activities for site
- Records purchase order receipt of incoming materials and equipment
- Work with Operations management to efficiently coordinate all logistics activities
Incoming Shipments
- Verifies documents and records
- Records purchase order receipt of incoming materials and equipment
- Manages the flow of truck drivers on site for inbound and outbound shipments
- Instructs and ensures all truck drivers comply with company safety regulations
- Works directly with Supply Chain to maximize OTTR
Outbound Shipments
- Creates delivery per sales orders. Printing off required documents (pack slip, pick slip, COA, SDS)
- Generates labels for deliveries considering specialized customer requests
- Prepares all documents for shipment (BOL, Export paperwork)
- Arranges Logistics (if required) calling or emailing carriers for a pickup
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies

- Use computer or electronic device to complete required tasks
- Utilize systems to process incoming/outgoing orders
- UPS/FedEx - for shipments and shipment labels as needed
- Develop and implement SOPs/work instructions

Qualifications/Desired Skills:
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred but not required
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years logistics experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is required
- Experience in bulk chemicals logistics preferred (railcars, tank trucks, ISO containers)
- 1 to 2 years of ERP experience required; preferably with SAP
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong process improvement and project management skills
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong verbal/non-verbal communication skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications including, word, outlook excel and power point
- Displays sound judgment and problem-solving skills
