Job Description General Summary: The Scientific Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting the development of disease state communication strategy and all enduring materials including the Global Scientific Platform, Global Slide Library, Lexicon and Scientific Narrative. This role will be responsible for learning about the disease state and all data associated with the program in order to ensure accuracy for all material development. For pipeline disease states, this role will support the development of FAQs, training and any medical guidance documents. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Supports the development of the disease state communications, global scientific platform, global slide library, lexicon, scientific narrative and slide decks Checks all materials for scientific accuracy, referencing and annotations Supports the development of training materials, FAQs and slide modules for all pipeline disease states Collaborates on special projects for the scientific communications team or the broader global medical affairs organization Continuously monitors the literature for any observations and insights that will inform the strategy or material development Tracks the literature alerts for assigned disease state Attends congresses and reports on scientific sessions and posters. Supports the daily updates for each congress, and supports the medical relations team with all medical content. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to work independently and to know when to ask for guidance on a project Detail oriented and strong organizational skills Excellent written and communication skills, and experience in scientific writing, to exchange complex information with others in complex situations Ability to develop collaborative relationships with internal cross-functional colleagues Ability to understand or learn highly complex disease areas and therapies Experience in scientific communications and/or publications Education and Experience: Advanced degree, doctorate level (PharmD, M.D. or Ph.D.) Typically requires 4 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience #LI-AR1 Company Information Vertex is a global biotechnology company that invests in scientific innovation.
